Expansion consulting

Ambulance and NEMT expansion consulting

For companies already operating: entering new counties or states, adding service lines, joining additional networks and scaling without breaking compliance.

Expansion fails for boring reasons. Authority does not travel across a county line. Insurance limits do not match the new contract. Staffing was planned for volume that arrives three months late. Documentation standards that passed in one market are rejected in another.

We plan the expansion the same way we plan a startup: authority first, capacity second, contracts third.

New markets

  • County-by-county authority review, including Florida COPCN requirements
  • Out-of-state licensure requirements and reciprocity realities
  • Station, staging and response-time planning for the new market
  • Competitive and demand review before committing capital

New service lines

  • Adding ALS, specialty care or interfacility to an existing operation
  • Adding NEMT to an ambulance company, or the reverse
  • Event standby, facility contracts and long-distance transport
  • Medical direction, protocol and training implications

Contracts and networks

  • Additional broker and managed-care network participation
  • Hospital, dialysis and skilled nursing facility contracting approach
  • Rate review against your true cost per trip in the new market
  • Capacity commitments you can actually meet

Scaling the back office

  • Dispatch and technology capacity for multi-market operations
  • Recruiting pipeline and credential tracking at scale
  • Billing, denials management and cash-flow planning
  • Compliance monitoring across jurisdictions

Frequently asked questions

Can my existing license cover another county?
Not necessarily. In Florida, county authorization is separate from state licensure, and operating in a new county may require its own certificate. Out of state, you generally need that state's license.
Do you work with companies outside Florida?
Yes. We consult nationwide, and confirm each state's current requirements as part of the engagement.

Discuss your expansion
